Critic Reviews of "The Last Ship - Season 1"
David Hinckley New York Daily NewsJune 20, 2014
The Sunday night scene just keeps getting worse on TNT. No, I don't mean the programming. The shows were already good and just got better with the addition of The Last Ship.

You just sit back, swallow this thing whole and wait for sturdy, studly, stolid Captain Chandler to fire off another round of uniformed rhetoric.
Tom Long Detroit NewsJune 19, 2014
The Last Ship sets sail on a strong premise. The question is whether it will be able to stay on course.
Verne Gay NewsdayJune 18, 2014
Passable summer thriller with some decent (for TV) action sequences.
Tom Conroy Media LifeJune 18, 2014
The Last Ship isn't the kind of series that people will brag about liking, but it could go viral.
Brian TallericoJune 11, 2014
The Last Ship is a show that I kept wanting to enjoy more than I was (being a big sci-fi nut and looking for a new summer diversion) but I could never get on its wavelength.
Ellen GrayJune 19, 2014
The cast is solid - including Adam Baldwin ("Chuck") as Chandler's No. 2 - and if we must contemplate annihilation-by-virus, there are certainly less-pretty places to view it than from the deck of The Last Ship.
Scott D. Pierce Salt Lake TribuneJune 19, 2014
The Last Ship is entertaining enough to overlook things that don't quite make sense. Which don't really matter. You have to just sit back and have fun with it, as serious as the situation is.
Josh Bell Las Vegas WeeklyJune 18, 2014
The plotting is often suspenseful, but the characters are one-dimensional, and the dialogue is a mix of cheesy one-liners and cliched grandstanding.
Joyce Slaton Common Sense MediaJuly 02, 2014
Tense post-apocalyptic thriller is violent and scary.
